I have a question about baby monitors...?

I have a two year old and i have a video monitor in her room, ABSOLUTELY love it. Now i'm having baby number two and want to get another one. Is there a monitor that i can by that has a split screen monitor or am i going to have to get two? I'm totally ok with having to buy a new one for my toddler. I know if you have two cameras some will let you switch from camera to camera, but i want one i can watch both the kids on. any ideas?? thanks :-)

I don't know if this would work, and this is sort of a hack, but what if you took an oscillating fan (like the kind that move back and forth), removed the fan blade (not hard to do on most - just take the clips off the "cage" part and unscrew what's holding the blade on), and then duct-taped the monitor or something to hold the monitor onto that, and it would continually pan back and forth so you could see both?

While sitting in front of my monitor, I accidentally splashed a few spots of water on the monitor. The spots dried before I noticed them and now I am unable to remove them. I have tried wiping the area with the cloth that came with my LCD television but that has not helped. I have not tried any products out of fear of damaging the screen. The water spots have become unsightly and I would like to remove them. It appears as though the anti glare coating is why I am unable to remove the water spots. Please help.

A mild solution of dish detergent and water. When I say mild...I mean 1 part detergent to 5 parts water. Use a soft cotton towel. Baby diapers and baby feeding cloths are the best. Use three towels or split the use of one. One towel dampened in detergent solution. One dampened in clean water and one completely dry. Clean the screen with the detergent water. Wipe and rinse with the clean water. Then completely dry any streaks with the dry towel. I have used this method for ten years on screens, glared and anti cleared screens. No abrasive chemicals involved. Remember your cleaning towels need to be soft and only damp. Not dripping.

Home security system vs baby monitor?

We are having Baby #2 in a couple of months and we live in a 2-story home, with our bedroom and main living on a different floor than the children's bedrooms. I want to be able to monitor each of my children in their own rooms by seeing and hearing them at the same time. I am also interested in monitoring them in the playroom. Has anyone found that a home security camera system to be more effective or affordable than a traditional baby monitor? If so, what is it like for you and which system did you use? Geeky dweebs and nerds are especially encouraged to reply with help.

To be honest, many baby video monitors can offer what you need. You can buy the parent unit and add more cameras as you need to monitor different rooms. I would take a look at the Samsung SEW-3037W. You can view up to 4 rooms at the same time using 4 cameras, via split screen on the parent unit. The night vision quality is good, it works over a large range and you can pan, zoom and tilt with the cameras

I have used the Summer infant brand while sleep training my son. They are reliable and hold their charge very well, you can also buy an extra camera for the second room and split screen view both on the original monitor.

You will end up spending around $250 for both cameras and the one monitor but they will last an extremely long time and are well worth the money.
