First time parents...baby monitor recommendations?....?

dy_66

Answer
we have this one and LOVE it!! there is ZERO interferance, it plays lullabye's, tells you the temp in baby's room, and it has a "lightshow". It has something like 60 channels too so you dont pick up anyone else's house. Also it is VERY lightweight ans easy to cart around, even outside!!

I highly reccomend it!!!!!!

EDIT: I forgot the best part....it only "kicks in" when there is noise, otherwise it is silent so there is no "white noise/static" from it all night!!!

And it has a walkie talkie feature that my hubby loves....he is constantly talking through it when I'm in there with our son... "daddy to lucas, daddy to lucas, come in.."

Baby Monitors: recommendations?

Q. Ok, we have the Graco ivibe monitors or whatever they're called, but they crapped out after one year and make this strange crackling noise so we need new baby monitors. I need one that doesn't get too much interference or much of a humming noise if its plugged into an power strip with other appliances. What Mhz's are the best (i know nothing about that) and what has worked well for you? I need help! I tried to different Safety 1st monitors and gotten no where with them..

oh btw my son is going to be a year old on the 29th, so the angel ones that monitor the hearbeat too are out of the question....i did always wanna try those ones though!

I love my monitor. It's a Mobi 2.4 GHz Wireless Color Monitor and it works awesome! It has 3 channels so if one has interference you can change it to another. I am sitting here right now watching my daughter sleep (it has night vision too); the monitor is just a foot away from the computer and there is no interference at all. It's very sensitive too. I can even hear her breathing sometimes! I don't know how the ratings are for them since I didn't do any research - it was a gift - but I would give it a 10 out of 10. It's so great to be able to see my daughter all safe in her crib sleeping instead of just hear noises from her room. Sometimes I just sit here and watch her sleep or as she's falling asleep. It's the sweetest thing!

***EDIT*** Oh! One more thing... It can be plugged in or work off batteries so I can carry it around with me if I need to; and the range is really good. I know they are pricy. I think it was close to $200, but it's something I can use for a very long time. You can even hook it up to your tv and record whatever is viewed through it (like a video camera). I have even used it for surveillance once when I was worried about an ex who still had a key to my door (long story) and I wasn't able to get the lock changed right away. I just set it up so I could watch the entrance-way and it really put my mind at ease. I'll probably use it down the road to record events. You can even view your baby sleeping on your big tv when it's hooked up. I just love this thing!

Recommendation on a good video baby monitor...?

Q. Have any parents out there found a really good video baby monitor? My husband and I are just now TTC but I want to get as much info on good equipment now. I like the idea of a video monitor so that we can make sure our baby doesn't have anything blocking his/her airway. Any reviews on monitors that you really love or really hate would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Answer
The Summer Night&Day is a pretty popluar one. it's almost $200, but it has bad reception. Ialso have a used Fisher Price Sound&Lights that I bought for $5 and it works waaaaaaay better. I can actually go outside with it and I don't get interference. The Summer one gets interference almost everywhere in the house, and you can forget going outside with it. The screen is nice, ad I can see a lot of detail, but unless I'm by the baby's room it's so annoying. It also interferes with my cell phone (I think they all do), but this one does it a lot, especially when I'm using the web. It also only has 2 channels whereas the Fisher Price one has 10. It might be worth it for you to buy a Summer one used from Craigslist or something, because I don't think it's worth $200

Recommendations for a baby monitor?

Q. I am looking to add a baby monitor on my registry and want to know which one you might recommend? I live in a 1350 sq ft apartment, the baby's room and my room are on opposite ends. Also I am on the first floor and have laundry right below me so I would like to be able to bring it with me, I am not sure about the distance, but it is relatively close and the baby's room is directly above the washer and dryer.
Thanks in advance!

Answer
you should not get a baby moniter you should just stay with the baby because you never know if the baby could get hurt you should just do the laundry when somone can come to your house and watch the baby while you are gone
