How many women had a preemie baby and then got pregnant again and delivered at full term?

best baby monitor for preemies on smallest baby The Smallest Babies Ever Born Alive
best baby monitor for preemies image

Bilinda G

I had my first son at 36 weeks but he was severly growth restricted so he was only 2lbs and 7 oz. Now almost 10 years later I'm pregnant with baby # 2.. The Dr. will monitor me and take more tests this time around due to the complications with 1st pregnancy, but I really want to be able to have a full term baby and wanted to know how many have come back and had full term babies.

Answer
My sister in law had her 1st baby full term, 2nd baby 3 months preemie (she was okay just spent months in preemie hospital) and her 3rd just lately was full term so much she got induced!! So be confident that you can too!

When did you transition your baby into their nursery?

kristin-Le

My son is 5.5 months old. He was a preemie, so developmentally he is slightly delayed. He can roll over from his stomach but not yet roll over from his back. So he is still sleeping in his bassinet next to my side of the bed. He will wake up several times a night still wanting a binkie. So, my question is, when did you make the final transition with your LO sleeping in their crib in their nursery? And how did your LO respond to the adjustment? Thank you in advance for your advice. :)

Answer
I moved my twins out of my room at 4 months old. However, they began sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old so really there was no need for them to still be with me. I just had a hard time letting them go even though their room is across the hall lol. Don't worry if your son cannot roll yet, just don't put anything in the crib with him that could cause harm. I didn't let my boys even have blankets until they could pull them away from their face on their own. They are almost 2 now and I only allow 1 blanket and 1 stuffed animal in their cribs. A safe environment and a baby monitor will ease your mind and after a few nights without him by your side you will be glad you moved him. Good luck!

llllll_ama

I have 2 kids, a 2.5 year old girl and a 7 week old boy. I have days (and i believe all parents have these days) where they drive me batty, especially my daughter.
When i get to the snapping point i put my daughter in her room with the gate in the door way, lay my son in his bassinet, take the baby monitor onto the porch with me and i calm down.

What do you do when you've had enough?

Answer
I put myself in timeout. Perhaps go for a walk, take a bath, read a book.

My children are older now (9 and 7, though we are expecting our third) but even when they are younger if I felt myself getting frustrated I would remove myself from it for a little while.

If they are safe and happy, it is good for mom to take a few moments to herself so that she can also be safe and happy.

What is the best 2 room video baby monitor?

Kristin

I would like to get a baby video monitor but I want it in both kids rooms with only one monitor screen. What is the best one on the market for the cheapest price. Or...is there a video system out that has only one camera that I can order a 2nd camera separate for?

Answer
Hi

Like any other products, baby monitors need to suit your lifestyle and satisfy your requirements, even to the slightest of details. So before you purchase one, try to dwell on a number of factors first. These things will not only serve as your guide, they will also help you pick out the best type or brand for your little one.

Some of the things you need to consider are:

Range
Portability
Levels of Interference
Video Monitoring Options

There are more details at the link in the source box about the Best Baby Monitors and I hope they help

Take care

Something really weird happened to my baby early this morning?

baby monitor under mattress on Mary, 35 - Hubby, 34 - Cat, 7 - Adele, born 11/17/2010!!! My Crazy ...
baby monitor under mattress image

Ohmehlord

I want some input. I'm not freaked out but kind of interested in finding out what's going on. My baby is 8 weeks old. We have an angel care monitor that is under the crib mattress and only goes off if my son happens to stop breathing and moving. We've only had it go off twice before this and it goes off for about 5 seconds and turns off before we even get to him. We've tested this thing according to the manual several times and it's always passed the tests.

This morning about 5:45 am the alarm went off and I shot out of bed and started to go in there. The alarm stopped. So I didn't go in his room I just went back to bed. Checked the monitor that's integrated into the sensor and I could hear the fan blowing so I knew it was working. Fell asleep and 15 minutes later it went off again. This time it stopped before I got to his room but it was twice so I went and checked on him. He was sleeping and breathing fine. Content as can be.

I started to leave but realized something.... My baby can't lift himself or roll around at all. But he was completely uncovered and turned at a 90 degree angle to where I always lay him! I ALWAYS lay him with his head under the mobile so he can watch it as he falls asleep because I always put him to bed still awake.

His head was pointed to the back of the crib now. This is how my husband might lay him down but he's 100 miles away working right now. I got a little freaked out. But picked him up and turned him back how I normally would have laid him down.

I went back to sleep but something told me he was visited by someone that knew him and loved him, God, an angel, or is great grandmother that passed away about 3-4 years ago that was very close to my husband. Some of her chairs we brought to our house because my husbands grandpa offered them to us. He lives about 5 or 6 hours away.

I just want to know if I'm going crazy or if this is something that can happen? I'm not scared but I felt almost at peace. My son didn't even wake up he was so peaceful and didn't change positions the next time I came in there at 7am.

Answer
It was weird, you're right.

What items can i buy for a newborn that is coming in February now?

KidKurious

My babys coming in February 2009. I had an idea to buy things like diapers, formula. wet wipes etc. a little every week, so that by the time the baby is born, i will have a stockpile of things so I wouldnt be spending so much later on.

what can i buy now that will last the next few months (little things not a crib or car seat of course) that will last?

Answer
little things 2 buy as u go...girl or boy?

baby kit with thermometer, clippers, hairbrush, comb ,etc--some of these can be bought 2gether or sep

baby monitor
onesies
socks
receiving blankets (would only buy a few if u r having a shower)
baby washclothes/towels
passys
avent formula divider cup 4 when u r out and need 2 feed baby; can be switched 2 a snack cup later
if ff bottles
bottle brushes
drying rack
dr brown's formula pitcher--great 2 keep out bubbles instead of shaking
snuzzler
swaddle me, by kiddopotamus, only 10 bucks at babies r us--easier and baby cant kick out
bibs
couple thicker blankets
diaper bag
a few sleepers with material suited 2 your area--good 4 baby 2 wear at home if cooler, onesies better if it is warmer in your home
crib sheets
waterproof lap pads (gerber is my pref, carters didn't seem as well made)
waterproof mattress protector
if u will be getting a bassinet and/or play yard u can buy wp pads and sheets 4 them
and 4 crib, check out 'the ultimate crib sheet'
bouncy seat/swing--prices vary greatly and u could get them 2nd hand
boppy--good for feeding either way, holding, baby sitting in, tummy time
boppy covers--cotton ones are cheaper and they fit better
changing table pad and covers
bins or baskets to organize things under table
baby hangers, baby hangers with the clips for outfits

teether toys
wipewarmer
diaper depot
baby meds--generics are cheaper and just as good--tylenol, mylicon for now
desitin regular, not creamy (more zinc oxide than anything else i can find)
frag/dye free laundry detergent and baby wash
don't buy too much formula in case u need 2 switch :)
play mat with a toy bar, prices vary greatly here too
mirror for baby in car so that u can see them in your rearview
sunshades for car windows
lingerie bag for washing those little baby socks
baby sleep sacks
hand mittens so baby doesn't scratch their face up
hats since it will be cold and babies esp lose a lot of body heat through their head
*not sure where you are, but when you buy up diapers, make sure that wherever you buy them will let you exchange them for a diff size if needed after their return period is up bc it is gonna be a while before you know exactly what size you will need the most of...i bought the huge boxes at babies r us bc per diaper they were the cheapest i could find and i asked and they said it would be ok to exchange and i had too and they let me, walmart will too, but they don't carry the big boxes..by buying the big boxes of swaddlers, i save a ton! i looked at the grocery store and luvs would be more expensive per diaper if i bought them there, i guess bc they didn't have the big boxes, but i have never seen a big box of those anywhere
if you are having a shower you may get most or all of this stuff at your shower, so if you are having one, i would hold off on things that you wouldn't want duplicates of that you can't return....some things, doesn't matter, you will use them eventually, others, not so good...alll i can think of right now...LOL, sorry for the book, but i hope it gives you some ideas, most aren't necessitites, but are really nice to have..good luck

Has anyone used a video baby monitor?

Pregnant w

How do they work?
What are the pros and cons?
I am thinking about buying one that you can have two monitors and see two rooms at once and was wondering how many people prefer it.

Answer
Congrats on baby #2!

I couldn't live with out my video monitor!! I have the Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor. The picture is so clear both at night and during the day. I love being able to check on my baby with out waking her. I don't even have to get out of bed unless she really needs me! I think if I only had the audio, I would have been getting up a lot more often to investigate every sound, especially during the first few months. The handheld part has a button on top so you can turn off the video screen if the light bothers you at night. Then if you hear something you feel you need to check on, simply click the button and the video comes back on. I read the reviews for this product. Many people say they could not get a signal. I never had a problem. I also read that they can interfere with wi-fi. My husband is a web developer... he never would have allowed wi-fi interference!

I highly recommend this monitor to all my friends. The only con I can think of is that I have had to change the channel due to static. Seriously, it's a flick of a button and I've had to do it maybe 3 times in 7 months. No biggie! I know you can get an extra camera for this monitor, but I don't need one yet. Here is what one person commented: "We bought a second camera to go with the monitor we already had. I love being able to switch back and forth between my two kids' rooms. Only issue is if the monitor is too close to one camera, you can have interference when trying to check on the other one."

How much do we need to monitor radiation in our home?

best baby monitor long distance on Fisher Price - Long Distance 900MHz Nursery Monitor: Health & Safety ...
best baby monitor long distance image

FF GURU

Ever since we had our daughter, my husband is obsessed with eliminating any sources of radiation in our house. He wants to turn off our wireless router, stop using cell phones, and stop using the video baby monitor in the nursery because he has read that all of these things give out harmful amounts of radiation, especially impacting the development of children's brains.
Is there any validity to his concerns? Or is he just being an overprotective parent?

Answer
he,s a little overboard, and misdirected. you get much more radiation on a long distance plane flight than you do from those sources. living in high elevations is a greater risk than living downwind from a nuclear power plant. you get more radioactivity from living downwind of a coal fired power plant.

Can you recommend a baby monitor (preferably a video monitor) that works from very long distances?

Linds

We just moved into a new house where our master bedroom is completely on the opposite side of the house from our son's room. The moniter that we have now works only sporadically (most of the time it flashes "out of range"). I really need one that will work well! It probably doesn't help that our bedroom is converted from the old garage, so there are literally 2 brick walls between our room and our son's room. Please help! Thank you!

Answer
I have a Mobi and it works great in my house. My house isn't huge but I can be upstairs and my daughter's room is downstairs on the other side of the house and it is clear. During the day the pic is in color, but turns to black and white at night. The only static has been when we have it too close to our remote controls and cell phones. It will get fuzzy but we move the items and it is fine.

Not sure if it will work between brick walls, but I have been out in our garage on my treadmill and had no problem.

How to track your ovulation cycle?

baby monitor online viewing on ... Baby Monitor at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Baby monitors and
baby monitor online viewing image

Mary K

Hello,

I need to learn how to track your ovulation cycle. I need to be able to make sure that I learn how to track it well in order to know the most exact date for "baby making." My periods are regular, but as I get older (I am 32) they are not near as long as they used to be.

thank you very much,

Answer
Tracking Ovulation:
A woman's monthly cycle is measured from the first day of her menstrual period until the first day of her next period. On average, a woman's cycle normally is between 28-32 days, but some women may have much shorter cycles or much longer ones. Ovulation can be calculated by starting with the day the last menstrual period (LMP) starts or by calculating 12-16 days from the next expected period. Most women ovulate anywhere between Day 11 - Day 21 of their cycle, counting from the first day of the LMP. This is what many refer to as the "fertile time" of a woman's cycle, because sexual intercourse during this time increases the chance of pregnancy. Ovulation can occur at various times during a cycle, and may occur on a different day each month. It is important to track your cycle;

The Ovulation Cycle Divided into Two Parts:
The first part of the ovulation cycle is called the follicular phase. This phase starts the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP) and continues until ovulation. This first half of the cycle can differ greatly for each woman lasting anywhere from 7 days until 40 days. The second half of the cycle is called the luteal phase and is from the day of ovulation until the next period begins. The luteal phase has a more precise timeline and usually is only 12-16 days from the day of ovulation. This ultimately means that the day of ovulation will determine how long your cycle is. This also means that outside factors like stress, illness, and disruption of normal routine can throw off your ovulation which then results in changing the time your period will come. So the old thought that stress can affect your period is only partly true. Stress can affect your ovulation which ultimately determines when your period will come, but stress around the time of an expected period will not make it lateâit was already determined when it would come 12-16 days earlier!

Fertility Awareness is one way to track when ovulation occurs, and it includes studying the changes in cervical mucus and using a basal thermometer. Cervical fluid will change to a wet, slippery substance that resembles "egg whites" just before ovulation occurs and until ovulation is over. A basal thermometer helps track a body temperature rise, which signals that ovulation has just occurred.

Another way to track ovulation is through ovulation kits and fertility monitors. These can be Purchased Online. Tracking ovulation can help a woman get a better idea of when pregnancy can and cannot occur during her monthly cycle. Once ovulation has occurred, there is nothing you can do to increase your chances of pregnancy. Your next step is to begin watching for early pregnancy symptoms.

View and print an Ovulation Calendar to better understand your menstruation cycle and ovulation.

From the Menstrual Period to Ovulation (the details you may not know!)
When your menstrual cycle begins, your estrogen levels are low. Your hypothalamus (which is in charge of maintaining your hormone levels) sends out a message to your pituitary gland which then sends out the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). This FSH triggers a few of your follicles to develop into mature eggs. One of these will develop into the dominant follicle, which will release a mature egg and the others will disintegrate. As the follicles mature they send out another hormone, estrogen. The high levels of estrogen will tell the hypothalamus and pituitary gland that there is a mature egg.

A luteinizing hormone (LH) is then released, referred to as your LH surge. The LH surge causes the egg to burst through the ovary wall within 24-36 hours and begin its journey down the fallopian tube for fertilization. The follicle from which the egg was released is called the corpus luteum, and it will release progesterone that helps thicken and prepare the uterine lining for implantation. The corpus luteum will produce progesterone for about 12-16 days (the luteal phase of your cycle.) If an egg is fertilized, the corpus luteum will continue to produce progesterone for a developing pregnancy until the placenta takes over. If fertilization does not occur the egg dissolves after 24 hours.

At this time your hormone levels will decrease and your uterine lining will begin to shed about 12-16 days from ovulation. This is menstruation (menstrual period) and brings us back to day 1 of your cycle. The journey then begins all over again.

The time of ovulation is one of the most important things a woman should understand about her body, since it is the determining factor in getting pregnant and preventing pregnancy. The process can be confusing and somewhat overwhelming when trying to understand. The Association recommends using an ovulation kit or fertility monitor to maximize your chances and to confirm when your ovulation is occuring. There are many frequently asked questions about the ovulation process, and the Association has attempted to address those for you. If you still have further questions regarding ovulation, we encourage you to either talk with your healthcare provider or contact the American Pregnancy Association for more information. Being informed on what your body does can help you feel more in charge of your health.

I want to use my cell phone with my laptop as a baby monitor for my newborn so that I can set the laptop up with the webcam on the baby & then I can watch it on my cell phone. Something similar to Skype but not Skype because it won't work with my phone. At least I can't figure out how to. Thanks!

Answer
gmail has video chat similar to skype. but then like skype, you'd still have to teach your baby to hit the "accept call" button when you call into your laptop.

Is there anyway to boost my reception in my basement?

best placement for baby monitor on Large Image : 2.4ghz Wireless Palm Baby Monitor With 2.5 LCD Color ...
best placement for baby monitor image

rynearson9

I get decent signal on the main floor and when i go in the basement my signal sucks. I have Verizon

Answer
Well here is some information that tells you what interferes with wireless signal:

Sources of interference for wireless devices and networks

The farther away the interference source, the less likely it is to cause an issue. The following items can cause interference with wireless communication:

* Microwave ovens: Placing your computer, Bluetooth wireless device, or AirPort base station near a microwave oven that is in use may cause interference.
* Direct Satellite Service (DSS) RF leakage: The coax cable that comes with certain types of satellite dishes may cause interference. Obtain newer cables if you suspect RF leakage.
* Certain electrical devices such as power lines, electrical railroad tracks, and power stations.
* 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz phones: A cordless telephone that operates in this range may cause interference with wireless devices or networks when used.
* Metal objects: If possible, move metal objects or change the placement of the computer, wireless device or wireless access point so the path between your computer and the wireless device or wireless access point is free from metal objects that may cause interference.
* Video senders (transmitters/receivers) that operate in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bandwidth.
* Wireless speakers that operate in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bandwidth.
* Certain external monitors and LCD displays: Certain displays may emit harmonic interference, especially in the 2.4GHz bandwidth between channels 11 and 14. This interference may be at its worst if you have a portable computer with the lid closed and an external monitor connected to it. Try changing your access point to use 5 Ghz or a lower 2.4 GHz channel.
* Any other "wireless" devices that operate in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bandwidth (microwaves, cameras, baby monitors, and so on).

Note: Some devices may not overtly state that they operate in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bandwidth. The operations manual should indicate the frequencies the device uses to operate. These may be referred to as "Dual Band" or "Wireless" devices.

Effect of home and office elements on wireless communication
Where you are located and what materials you are surrounded by can affect your wireless networking performance or Bluetooth wireless device. The table below shows common elements and their potential for interference.
Type of Barrier Interference Potential
Wood Low Interference
Plaster Low Interference
Synthetic material Low Interference
Glass Low Interference
Water Medium Interference
Bricks Medium Interference
Marble Medium Interference
Paper rolls High Interference
Concrete High Interference
Bulletproof glass High Interference
Metal Very high Interference

I would say your problem is Concrete because of the bricks, which are almost the hardest next to metal and bulletproof glass... But if you can get a wireless access point and get it at the entrance of the basement, it will take the signal from your router and extend it into your basement. You can take these WAPoints and move them around to see where you get the best signal in your basement with where the access point extends the signal too. I hope this helps. Also some of the other items listed above can cause inteference but I would suspect the concrete and start there. There not too expensive and you can have more than one.

Ten Top Jobs for the Next Decade and Beyond

1.
Computer Programmer.
Even though many American companies actively recruit overseas workers for programming jobs, there is still plenty of work for qualified computer specialists right here in the United States. Security breaches and concerns about potential terrorism have heightened security at many companies. Because "offshoring" computer programming work poses so many security risks, many large employers have reverted to using in-house teams of programmers who can be monitored more carefully. A degree in computer forensics would allow you to become one of the monitors.

In addition, the development of new operating systems and common code bases has allowed many more industries to develop custom software solutions. A decade ago, many companies from wildly different fields might have used the same spreadsheet program. Today, developers with unique backgrounds build specialized applications like databases, point-of-sale systems, and customer relationship networks.

2.
Day Care Provider.
Until recently, many day care providers struggled with low wages, high stress, and poor job security. With the explosive demand for quality child care, however, many parents are now willing to pay higher premiums to facilities with excellent reputations and strong learning programs. A professional in this industry can command an even higher salary with an early childhood special education degree.

Though some parents lament the reduced emphasis on play activities in many modern day care settings, the consumer demand creates many lucrative opportunities for child development majors who want to follow their passion while earning significant rewards.

3.
Elder Care Specialist.
The parents of Baby Boomers relied on large families to share the burden of caring for elderly loved ones. With fewer children to care for them, the Baby Boomers are turning, in record numbers, to professionally operated assisted living facilities. A far cry from yesterday's nursing homes, today's senior communities often integrate luxury amenities like four-star dining, golf, and live entertainment.

Despite the luxury resort setting, each facility relies on teams of qualified healthcare specialists to look after the needs of residents. With government and consumer scrutiny of elder care facilities at an all-time high, employers demand job candidates with proven skills and positive attitudes. Consider a degree in health information technology for a fast-growing job with a minimal amount of clinical work.

tayy

Why does my app download slow on my phone ... But when I'm not downloading any apps it works fast 4 other people use the same wifi but only two are on it now so why are my apps downloading slow ?

Answer
Lots of variables here,

How fast is your Internet connection?
How much of this speed are others using?
How good is your WiFi connection between your phone and the router?

INTERNET SPEEDS & MULTIPLE USERS:
Your Internet speed is determined by your ISP and is measured in Mbps (Millions of bits per second). You can test your speed here: http://speedtest.net

For example if you pay for a 3 Mbps Internet connection, you will get 3 Mbps.

No router or connection settings will change your 3 Mbps Internet speed. This connection bandwidth is shared by your entire LAN via your router.

If you have a 3 Mbps Internet connection and one user is utilizing 2.5 Mbps of the bandwidth to stream a Netflix movie that only leaves 0.5 Mbps for all of the rest of the users on the LAN.

In simple terms, the more users you have the more speed will be required. Streaming video, such as Netflix and Hulu require a lot of bandwidth. Here are the minimum recommendations from Netflix. https://support.netflix.com/en/node/306

Many people would be likely be surprised at how many active connections their wireless router has. I have dozens. cell phones, tablets, iPods, game consoles, laptops, desktops, ROKU boxes, Internet enabled devices such as TVs and audio receivers, and the list goes on.

The only real way to speed up your Internet connection is to get a faster ISP or speed tier.

WIRELESS CONNECTIONS:
Wireless signals are affected by many factors including distance, wall density, electrical interference, directional antenna range, etc.

All of these factors will affect your actual wireless range. As wireless connection quality varies the connection speeds are renegotiated. The WLAN connection may start at 150 Mbps and end up at less than 10 Mbps or drop entirely.

Wireless router connections also experience overhead involved in the data transfer such as the encryption and decryption of the data used for wireless security.

Just because a particular wireless router model works good at one location does not guarantee that it will have similar performance in a different location due to variances in the factors listed above.

You should try to centrally locate your wireless router or gateway up high and away from dense walls and electrical and 2.4 GHz wireless interference such as microwave ovens, cordless phones, baby monitors, etc.

You can also move your WiFi device closer to the wireless router to get a stronger WiFi signal.

Good Luck...

well i didnt have a good labor and delivery at all. i was induced after a regular appointment because my amnoitic fluid was low and might i mention i had woke up late for my dct app and didn't get a chance to eat anything. anyway so i walk over to labor and delivery fron my dct scared and all alone. my bf was on his way to work so i am trying to call him and tell him however my phone won't work because of the hospital and i can't get reception. anyway so i finally get to labor and delivery, wow was that a long walk....(just across the hospital) they have me change into a gown and put in bed. they start my IV and i finally get a hold of my bf and i tell him what is happening he says ok im on my way. so once i get all situtated and comfy in bed i go to turn on my tv, i needed something to pass the time, i didn't bring anything thinking it was just going to be a regular check up. anyway my tv doesn't work. so i call for my nurse and she come in i tell her and ask her if i can please have something to eat, i am so hungry at this point and nausseated from not eating and she tells me the worst news a pregnant lady can hear. "YOU CAN'T EAT NOW BECAUSE WE ALREADY STARTED THE IV" WHAT!!!!!! she tells me the only i can have is ice chips. so here i am hungry, no tv, no bf, and my contractions are starting. weak at first like mild period cramps, so my bf make it like an hour later and the nurse comes in checks me and says im only at 2 cent. and then has the nerve to give my bf a daddy bag filled with cookies, crackers, puzzels, pretzels, and chocolate. something for him to keep himself occupied.. lol, he is in a hospital there are so many other things that he can do however she wants to give him food when i am like a lion that hasn't eaten in over a week. she tells him don't give her any, she can't eat anything. so as soon as she leaves the room i am begging for him to give my just one pretzels, just one. and he says no the nurse said i can't, when does he ever listen to anyone!!!! so i start to get mad and he says well i have to go and finish something real quick will you be ok, i said yes ill call you when things start to get going more. at this point i didn't want anyone around me.... so i try to close my eyes and get some sleep and then the people want to come in to fix my tv. this weird maintaince man walks in, might i mind you i have my legs up towards my belly cause the contractions are getting a little stronger and he looks like a weirdo off the streets. anyway he fixes the tv however the remote doesn't work. so i am stuck with ivs in both arms the monitor across my belly and it is on CNN. so i phone the nurse to help me get up and change the cannel and go to the bathroom. once i do this i sit bymelf for the next few hours, contractions are getting worse, they come in and check me and now im at 5, so i call my bf and he says he will be here in within 10-15mins. so here i am, sitting and i feel something warm and wet down there. i try to stop it however it wont stop. it was like i was peeing. i ring the bell and tell the nurse i think i just peeed my bed, lol... she comes in and checks and says no hunny your water just broke. so since it was just trinkling so she takes this thing that has like a little hook on the end and says im going to break it completely and this will help speed up your labor. while she is doing this my bf arrives, then there is this small gush of fluid, she changes my sheets however will not let me stand now cause now there is no barrier protecting the baby so she does this with me holding my butt up, and while my contractions are going.... so i am all dry and now come the real pain. they were like really really bad period cramps however they would come in spurts and my back started cramping. so as i am trying to breath through them my bf is asking what does it feel like, do they hurt, what can i do, tell me tell me... i am just closing my eyes trying to breath and he is pestering me... omg!!! so about 20 mins later the epidural doc comes in and asks me about it, if i want to do it or not.... my plan was to not, i wanted to have a natural birth all around however it wasn't natural from the begining cause i was induced so i said yes... with my hunger, bf, contractions, screwed up room/tv, and everyone asking me and poking at me i needed it!!! so he comes in and make a lond story short has me sit up bend over and sticks this huge needle in my back, i couldn't see much however it hurt like hell and this is happening during a contraction. about 20 mins later i start to feel a little numb from like my butt down.....

How to interfere with a baby monitor?

baby monitor on baby sensor monitor i have a video baby monitor that has excellent ...

Q. Sounds cruel, I know, but it's not what you think. See, my grandmother is really fucking nosey and has a baby monitor hidden somewhere in our living room so that she can listen to the family talk while she is "sleeping". Personally, I can't stand it when people can't keep their nose out of my business and would like to put an end to this. Is there anything I can do or maybe something I could buy to block the signal? Help, please?

Answer
If it's a baby monitor, it can't be that small. Do a thorough search and find it. Then open it up, pry several components off the board and put it back. Or if you know where she keeps the receiver wait until she's away, open it and pry a few components off the board. Or tape the transmitter to a waste pipe so she hears every time a toilet flushes.

What is the range of a video baby monitor?

Charlie

We are thinking of getting a video baby monitor. We are wondering what is the distance the signal can be picked up. People are telling us burglars and pedophiles will drive around and pick up the signals. But what distance does it take, because we can see around our house where someone might park to view our monitor and that is in plain sight. Thanks for the help.

Answer
Video monitors don't have a long range but according to the article below, the picture is scrambled. The sound monitors can be heard as far as 900 feet, which is pretty much a small corner of your neighborhood.

Answer
No way
If your savannah is healthy he will see the dragons as food. What gender are your dragons you should only keep females together unless they are sexually mature and you keep a group in a large enclosure.

Did you/do you use a baby monitor with the baby in the other room at night...or did/does your baby sleep in your room?

Do you think any either of those are a bad choice?

Answer
My son slept in our room with us until he was reliably sleeping through the night. After that we moved him into his own room across the hall. I wanted to keep him as close to me as possible when he was waking up often at night so that I wouldn't have to walk as far to get him and put him back to bed. Lazy, I know, but practical. He slept in his bassinet at the foot of my bed, which meant I didn't even have to get out of bed to tend to him. I just don't see any joy in getting out of bed, walking around the house, getting baby, putting baby back, and walking back to bed when you have to do it several times a night.

We moved him into his own room across the hall, left both doors open, and I made certain the baby monitor was positioned close to my head so that I would hear him. I don't know what I was thinking, but we didn't need the baby monitor at all. I mean, he was only 20-30 feet away with both doors open. When he cried, I heard him. Even in our larger home now, I can hear him cry across the house with both of our bedroom doors shut.

No, I don't think either choices are inherently bad. I do think that co-sleeping, done properly, is the safest option for a newborn since it prevents SIDS. It also helps babies sleep better.

Is it okay to sleep a 2 month old on their tummy while an adult is present?

My twins always fall asleep during tummy time... Anyway it would be so great if I could just allow them to sleep that way since they're up 90% of the day and it's so difficult to get them to sleep any other way.

Answer
Babies naturally are more comfy on their bellies and the risk of sids depends on so many different factors. I myself asked this question a month ago and did some research on sids and then decided my two month old could sleep on his stomach. He is in a cosleeper right next to my bed on a firm mattress and a sensor pad that came with my baby monitor which monitors his movement and breathing. This monitor has helped put my mind at ease. Now we are sleeping 6-8 hours a night :) instead of 2-3 intervals.
I would say as long as your babies can turn their heads from side to side try it if you are comfortable.....

How would you cope with the fact your baby was going to be hooked up to all these machines???

Q. My three triplets are going to be premature . Just starring at the babies through the window hooked up to all those wires and machines and tubes just made my heart sink. How would you cope with the fact that one of your babies might die ? I and my husband are having a really hard time dealing with this I need help please help!

Answer
Here is my story:

I had twins - they were born at 37 weeks which is considered full-term for twins. Unfortunately, my daughter had aortic stenosis which is a heart defect where the aortic valve is too narrow for good blood flow. They found the defect on an ultrasound at 18 weeks . . . During the whole pregnancy she was monitored and we knew that there was a chance that they would need to deliver her even earlier than 37 weeks (also risking my other twins life) if her heart issue became worse.

Immediately after birth, I got to see her for a moment before she was triaged and wisked away to Children's Hospital. They performed heart surgery on her the very next day - she was only 5lbs 1 oz. She spent 10 days in the hospital hooked up to breathing tubes, feeding tubes and heart monitors. For the first couple of days she was in a medically induced coma. She didn't look real - more like a doll than a baby.

I was at the hospital across the street with my son, recovering from the c-section while my daughter was at a different hospital. I had to send my son to the nursery and request a wheelchair so that family members could take me across the street to see my daughter. I spent a lot of time alone in my room with my son as my husband and parents were with my daughter - she just seemed to need them more. It was the most difficult time of my life.

In the end - my twins are currently napping in their bouncy chairs at this very moment - they are now 4 months old. My son is just fine and my daughter still has a heart issue (she will always have one) but she is currently fine and she sees a cardiologist regularly to make sure that she continues to do fine or to schedule surgery in the future if it becomes neccessary.

I know that you are probably stressed and I know that it is hard to deal with . . . I wish that I had the magic answer for you . . .

Here is my advice - find doctors that you like, tour the NICU so that you will know where your triplets might be, take really good care of yourself - the longer they are in you . . . the better. Don't dwell on the what ifs and the worst case scenarios . . . women have had triplets and they have been just fine. They might not be hooked up to any machines. I joined a support group for parents of multiples before I had my twins (you can do a google search for multiples support groups in your area)- it helped a lot to know other women that have been through it. After that just take it day by day and build your support system with family and friends.

You and your husband WILL get through this . . . parents don't have a choice. You simply do it, you simply get through it . . . and it will always pull at your heartstrings and bring tears to your eyes when you look back on it. If you are religious, prayer never hurt!

Feel free to email me through my profile - I am sending you loads of positive thoughts!
