Is there a video monitor that shows a whole room view and not just a crib?
Answer
For video cameras you're better off getting cameras that are marketed as security camera and put that in the baby's room, a lot of these types of cameras you can check from a phone or the Internet, they end up being cheaper then a video baby monitor and you can get more then one camera to check on the whole room or even house. Motorola makes a nice one for a few hundred dollars. They are expensive tho, no matter what kind you get

Adding custom music to Motorola MBP36 Baby Monitor?

CAL
I have a Motorola MBP36 Baby Monitor that comes with 5 factory stock lullabyes on it. There is an AV Out on the side that looks like a USB 2.0 or something and I wanted to know if anyone on here knows if I can put my own music on the device? I already tried to hook it up to my computer but my computer does not recognize it as another drive. Any ideas and/or input would be appreciated. Thanks

The product description for the A/V cable you mention says it's for connecting the monitor to a TV or other display that has Composite (Yellow video, White - monaural - audio). Although it is USB, as can be seen by the USB insignia on the connector, and although USB by definition (standards set for USB) bi-directional, it is only bi-directional if the equipment to which it is connected is also bi-directional, which this appears to not be. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (and I could be wrong) but it looks as though you'll have to be content with the selections provided. Here's a link to the product/description:

My bet is that the mic that accompanies the camera, and the sound module that produces the music, are discrete systems - that is, there's no mixer between them, just the sound unit produces music and the mic picks it up, but they don't interact otherwise.
Or, you could play whatever music you like for the little one through another device in the room...
(I highly recommend this - I'm certain my own love of fine music was fostered at a very young age by my parents' desire to play quality music for me). Good luck!
