Is it possible to get radio interference through the baby monitors?

Jaime

Lately ive been hearing music coming through the baby monitor but when i go into the babys room to inspect the recieving monitor, i hear no music in the room, nor do i hear our neighbors on the other side of with wall. Sometimes i hear country and others i hear piano or some other musical instrament. Can the monitors pick up other radio waves other than their own? Ive been stumped trying to figure this out, it has the hubby spooked cuz when we moved in, our stereo had a habit of turning on in the middle of the night.

Answer
It is unlikely that your baby monitor is picking up music via radio broadcasts directly since the frequencies are typically very different.

However, it is very possible that a neighbor has a baby monitor using the same frequency as yours and you are listening to their music via their baby monitor transmitter (in their baby's room).

Some monitors have an A/B switch on them to change frequencies - if so, try changing both your Transmitter and Receiver units.
