Dream Coma
Answer
Yes remember when Cassie died on Y&R? Nick and Sharon were at her bedside and when the monitor went blank it was just SO sad. Nick and Sharon losing their baby girl. When they were both crying and Cassie was just lying there not breathing it was heartbreaking. I hate Sharon and Nick but no parent should witness the pain of losing a child. So yes emotional bedside scenes are good rating grabbers in my opinion. Not only bedside scenes but cat fights get people's attention too!

help! I think my baby has acid reflux?

Natalie
I think my daughter might possibly have acid reflux. She's irritable during feedings, throws up her formula & doesn't seem to mind, when she eats she like makes a noise as if she's gulping air & formula all at once, constantly has hiccups & she sleeps for maybe 15 mins to an hour.. She's not exactly fussy, jus picky... I'm about to call to make a drs apt for her but would it be okay to put a little bit of rice cereal in her bottles until the apt...?
she'll be 2 months on the 21st.. & the nipples are slow on her bottles.. I also use the drop in bottles as well as regular ones...
oh & I jus wanna try it cuz when she spits up I dnt want her to eat & spit up her bottle then still be hungry I jus kno for acid reflux thicker formula helps to not spit up or spit up as much
Answer
My daughter was put on rice cereal at two weeks old to treat acid reflux. It immediately stopped her spit up!!! She eats 1tablespoon of cereal per oz of formula which is a lot but she has severe acid. If you want to try something else you can try soy formula which is thicker than regular. I've heard drop ins are good but I can't really say since i've never used them. I use Dr Browns which work great in my opinion and have the best ratings and reviews out of Drop ins, avent, and born free. Everyone will tell you that rice cereal isn't for small babies but your baby is older than mine and my baby does excellent on it. But It is a good idea to ask your Dr first and if you end up trying it i'd recommend to start off with 1teaspoon per oz rather than 1tablespoon. i tried apple cereal and found it caused constipation. I buy single grain oatmeal cereal. Dr says there is a lesser chance of baby being allergic to oatmeal since my sister was allergic to rice. Buy the x cut nipples and monitor her eating very closely because she won't be use to the faster flow. If nothing else works ask your Dr about zantac or prilosec. hope this helps
