I am 39 weeks pregnant. I am dilated to 2 CM, 80% effaced and the babyâs head is at zero station. I have been having non-painful contraction for the past three days. I went to the hospital when I noticed they were consistent. The monitor confirmed that I was contracting every 2-3 minutes but I wasnât in labor because there was no change in my cervix (no change in dilation). Three days later I am still consistently contracting but they still are not painful at all â Just a tightening for about a minute in my abdomen. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? The doctor is going to induce me on Thursday if I donât go into labor on my own before then. If anyone else has been in a similar situation please advise as to when you went into labor. Thank you all!

I have a three year old mutt. I don't know what she is fully i know she a Sheppard mix.

I've had her for a year . In the past 6 months I've noticed she snaps at people. her eyes go big she growls and goes off. Then after she does it . It's like she doesn't know that she did anything. She looks 100% confused. What could be wrong with her? something with her brain?

I am going to take her to the vet but With recent things that have happened I can't pay the vet right now.

Background info on her

She was beaten when she was younger

she is blind 100% in one eye and see shadows in the other eye.

she also has hip and elbow displasha (i don't know how to spell it were the hips pop out of place)

I am not surprised there's anything wrong with her. I just wanna know what possible wrong with her.

Ps: for one that are going to say put her down. Not in tell she is ready. She happy three year old ( with her own issues) that loves to play. She not ready do go down. She a tough one . The vet knows of her issue ( body and eyes wise) and says as long as she is still willing to truck along there no need to put her down. The attacking thing started after we took her to the vet when we first got her.

The question is what could be wrong with her. With her randomly snapping like that and acting confused . what could it be. Just wanted to give you guys some background info on her.

Thank you!
she ovbs not in that much pain you guys . she runs around and plays with my dog that is 3 times bigger then her. gets throw to the ground by my other dog and get right back up . She spoiled . I have pills to help with her joints. If she would cry when I stretch her legs to keep them moving wasn't playing with my pit bull dog because she was in pain it be a different story. I talk to her when i am petting her. I can be talking to her for a hr and it like something goes off. This isnt a matter of I am not talking to her while petting her making sure she know She safe and That i am there. something snaps and she goes off.
1. I have talked to the vet about her hips and everything. She takes pills for her joints. I slowly stretch out her legs EVERYDAY! I also put a heating pad ( with a towel on it! ) on low while I am awake and can make sure I doesn't burn her. She doesn't have issues as long as I do this everyday.

I am taking to her to the vet soon. I just wanted to know what to expect. Thank you.
Thank you everyone

Ps: I know the old owner. And I haven't hit her , not fed her. I don't let kids around her or my family just my pit bull which she loves .

When she attack me. I say her name and gently pull her off of me. and pet her. If you yell at her and treat her like she in trouble it only makes it worse .
:)

lol and one that said to assert my dominance to her. She has no fing idea what that means. she'll just be like ummm yo? wanna play with me. my pit is the Alpha and my special dog has no idea when he try to dominate her what it even means she thinks its play time! thank you tho

thank you.

The fact your dog is blind in one eye and nearly completely blind in the other, and has displasia would be the first things that I would zero in on...not her abusive past. The chances of her conditions deteriorating are quite high, and if she can't see people, or she's in pain or uncomfortable...she is going to snap. Just because she is on medication and you're tending to her (good for you being a good owner) doesn't mean she isn't suffering some discomfort. She can have her good days and bad.
Does she snap at people when they try to pet her? How are they approaching her? Does she snap at movement? I am more careful around dogs that only have partial vision than dogs that have zero vision because the dogs that can only see shadows are ten times more likely to snap at me or anyone else due to the fact that...they're seeing shadows. Now, couple that with an abusive past, and she's bound to be a bit more edgy.
Don't let people mess with her, and be careful handling her until the vet checks her out. If she is having issues at 3 years old, she could very well have developed some other malady since you've had her.
Also, take note of where your hands are on her when she "snaps". The chances of her snapping at you to tell you that you're touching a "sensitive" spot are high. Remember, GSDs can be quite touch sensitive and big babies about small things despite their rough and tumble ways.
You also have to remember that dogs don't understand limitations. She could be hurting, and pushing herself to play with your other dog. My pit fractured two toes on his front paw, and despite the pain, and my constant supervision...he would still try to play with my other boys.
Monitor all interactions she has with people, and in the situation I would NOT allow her around anyone else until all medical causes have been ruled out. If she passes the vet inspection then it is time to hire a professional trainer. For all you know, the abuse could have knocked a few screws loose, but only a professional trainer would be able to tell you if that's the case.
Recently I was working with a dog that legitimately had lost her mind, and after getting two other trainers involved to see if they saw anything in the dog that I was "missing", having the vet check the dog, and doing a board and train situation...the dog had to be put down for the safety of the family, their children, and because the neighbor's filed a bite report that the owners had not notified me of until two days before the dog was seized.
This sounds like a health related issue or a behavioral issue rather than a neurological issue. Many times it can take a dog up to one full year to settle into their new home environment, and when a dog starts to feel comfortable...they will show their true colors. So, have your dog checked by a vet to rule out any medical issues causing the aggressive outbursts (most likely pain related), then call a professional trainer who specializes in aggression to assess your dog for any behavior issues. In the mean time do NOT allow your dog to socialize with people unless muzzled to ensure that she cannot bite anyone.
