How many of you share your room with your baby?

Me and my "boyfriend" share our room with out five month old baby, we're young, we live with my mom, brother and sister. I have a feeling when we move out someday, I'll miss having him sleep in our room, baby monitors don't count. I'm also afraid he'll get too used to sharing a room with us since there's no other room for him.

I'm just wondering how many of you share your room with your baby? Or a toddler. You would obviously love having him/her in your room but how does it get when they get older and still sleep in the room?

How do your decorate your room that will also make the baby happy? He loves my old room because the walls are dark-bright pink. My current room is light blue with a yellowish ceiling. I wanna put get glow in the dark stars, skulls(pirate kind/Misfits) and bats(like the batman signal but not batman), but I was wondering what other kinds of things would go good on our walls that he would like but not seem so baby-ish. Something that would make him intriged.
I know some people aren't too trilled about the skull/bat decore I want but it's still my room and my baby, I want him to get used to my style as well.
Oh ya, he does have a crib, a black one with red sheets

Answer
My daughter is 9mnths and sleeps in my room in her cot, she does have her own bedroom which is decorated in neurtral colours with brown bears (teddys wash day from mothercare) on the walls and curtains. Our house isnt a great size and her room is been used as storage for the moment so thats why shes with us until we either sort a new house or clear our clutter. I would say as your baby gets older they develop a character and u will know what will soothe ur baby and make them feel relaxed. Even though my daughters only young she doesnt like the dark, likes cuddles and other babies so her next room will be made light with lots of teddys and really girly features to make her feel secure...what about a space theme...like real dark blue walls with stars on the ceiling (glow in dark ones), a few spaceships on the wall just an idea..

What does a baby need?

Answer
Hi congratulations :)
For your baby you will need;

â¢Baby vests, I will buy about a minimum of 14 of them as baby's bring up milk etc so will need to change etc its always best to have a few.
â¢Baby grows, a minimum of 14 again you will need a few, my kids brought up milk atleast twice a day sometimes even 3 times + a day!
â¢Bibs, a minimum of 12 bibs, trust me you'l need them.
â¢Hat, 2 atleast, you'l just need them for going out :)
â¢Mitts, 2 atleast, it will prevent your baby from scratching their selves.
â¢Socks, 5 pairs, can buy more if you want.
â¢Coat, I bought 1 you can buy 2 if you want.
â¢Rompers, 8 or more.

(Buy your baby a few newborn clothes and a few up to 1 month clothes, I bought my son all newborn baby clothes from Next and nothing fit him, I had to buy all new up to 1 month baby clothes)

Things you will need for the Nursery,
â¢Blankets, atleast 4
â¢Baby Bedding, 2 atleast (Duvet etc)
â¢Cot Sheets, minimum of 4
â¢Moses basket sheets, 4 or more (if you get 1)
â¢Cot/Cotbed
â¢Cradle or Moses basket
(I bought a Cot bed for the bedroom and a moses basket for down stairs)
â¢Changing cabinet (if you want one)
â¢Wardrobe (again only if you want one)
â¢Mobile for the cot (if you get one)
â¢Baby monitor
â¢Nursing chair (if you want one)
â¢Toys for the cot

Bathing and Changing your baby,
â¢Changing mat
â¢Baby bath
â¢Towels, 2 or more
â¢Baby shampoo, Lotion, Oil, Talcum etc
â¢SudoCreme (incas baby gets a sore bum)
â¢Nappies, stock up before baby comes, 6 packs or more will be good, (if your partner is around then its cool you can buy 2 packs, my partner was away with the aemy when I had my kids so it was easier for me to stock up on nappies, I bought 12 packs before my baby was born)
â¢Baby wipes, 6 atleast
â¢Cotton wool (for top and tail)

Feeding,
â¢Bottles (if your bottle feeding, Tommee Tippee ones are realy good)
â¢Sterilier (if your bottle feeding)
â¢Dummy
â¢Breast pump (if your breast feeding, I bought one because my nipples were realy sore when my baby was sucking on them so it was easier to pump milk out and feed her through a bottle, with my 3rd baby no milk came out so I had to bottle feed him)
â¢Bibs, (I've also mentioned above)
â¢Infacol (its realy realy good for baby's give it to your baby before each feed, it will prevent them from getting any trapped wind which can realy upset them and make them scream in pain!)

Traveling,
â¢Pram/Pushchair (I bought a Quinny Buzz, I love it, it runs so smoothely, even on the bumpy bits your baby hardly feels a thing!)
â¢Car seat
â¢Toys for the pram
â¢Changing bag

Other things when baby is about 1 month plus old,
â¢Bouncer
â¢Swing
â¢Play mat

Here are a few shops you can have a look on the net and shop,

â¢Next
â¢BabiesRus
â¢Mothercare
â¢Kiddiecare
â¢Boots
â¢Pumpkin Patch
â¢Asda
â¢Tesco

Hope this info helps, wish you all the best with your precious little baby :) take care and have fun baby shopping! :) x
