I bought a baby monitor off of ebay yesterday for $14 that retails at $75. My husband had a fit because he wants a video baby monitor...infact..the one he wants is just shy of $200....Don't you think this is too much for a baby monitor? Most people will only use it once..maybe twice..
need i also say..that our baby is never out of our sight really? He sleeps in our room..we have him sleep in a cradle downstairs until we go to bed...we only got one just in case we ever need to use it..

I don't think the video monitor is necessary. i wouldn't spend more than 40 bucks on my monitor. I hardly used it and I ahve two kids. Its almost like people buying that sterilization thing for baby bottles....????? Whats wrong with a pot of boiling water? Works just as well and its a heck of a lot easier on the wallet

Answer
You can check on ebay or amazon and get the monitor and the test strips cheaper than you would in a store. Also maybe try your local craigslist? There are many other ways to track your ovulation besides the monitor. You can chart your basal body temp, look on fertilityfriend.com for more info on charting. Charting will confirm ovulation for you, so you will be made aware of it after it happened. You can also try ovulation predictor kits. They are available at just about any store, and they will also help you to become familiar with your ovulation pattern. I would highly recommend the monitor, as I've been using it for a year and it is spot on. I trust it fully.
Lots of luck and baby dust :)
