what is the difference in N wireless than G wireless?

Answer
802.11n is faster and has a longer range than the older wireless standards. This standard can also operate on the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz spectrum (depending on the router). Running on the 5Ghz spectrum can eliminate a lot of interference caused by baby monitors, microwaves, etc... It has a theoretical speed (throughput) of 600Mbps, but in reality will be much slower, but faster than the G standard.

If your looking to purchase a new wireless router I would go for the "N" standard unless it's a lot more money. With the MIMO feature "N" has, it will give you a longer range and help speed up large file transfers.

In short, it is all around better :)

Would it be beneficial for me to get a Wireless 'N' router instead of 'G' on Comcast internet?

Right now, I get about 15mbps if I have a wired connection to my internet. When I put my computer in the other room over wireless, it drops down to 3mbps. My computer is capable of 302.11n, so would I have a faster connection using an 'N' router? I heard that using n can possibly allow for greater distances and better connectivity.

Answer
N has a wider range comparing to G

N also capable of running on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio spectrum. If possible, go with the 5GHz because of less interferences (your cordless phone, baby monitor, microwave runs on the 2.4GHz)

Also N is capable up to 100 + Mbps, while G is around 54 Mbps but i don't think your internet connection is anything close to 100 Mbps.

better connectivity has more to do with your wi-fi adapter

and also i think you mean 802.11n instead of 302.11n

Conclusion: if you have an N compatible wi-fi adapter and would like to benefit from the above, and money is not an issue (well, N router is pretty affordable nowadays). I'd say go for it
